Overview
The focus of the program is on inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and reflective practice in relation to the theory and practice of nursing in health and health breakdown across the lifespan.
Using a primary health care framework, students study the application of physical and behavioral sciences to nursing, inquiry and evidence-based practice principles and utilization within nursing, and nursing care of individuals, families, and groups from diverse backgrounds across the lifespan.
The acquisition of nursing knowledge and skills occurs initially in campus-based simulated clinical practice settings and consolidation occurs as students undertake professional experience placements in a variety of health care settings.
Our program reflects contemporary practices in nursing, health, and education, and responds to emerging trends.

Course Structure
HND in Nursing
Duration: 3 years
Focus: Foundational nursing care, anatomy, pharmacology, patient assessment, medical-surgical nursing, and clinical training.
Career Options: Entry-level nurse, healthcare assistant, community health worker, or further studies toward a Bachelor’s degree.
Bachelor’s in Nursing Science (BNS)
Duration: 1 year top-up
Focus: Advanced nursing practice, critical care, pediatric and psychiatric nursing, research, leadership in healthcare, and public health nursing.
Career Options: Registered nurse, nurse educator, healthcare administrator, research nurse, or private healthcare provider.
